In this episode I speak with Frank King who is a stand up comedian, 5 times TEDx speaker, suicide prevention and postvention public speaker, author and trainer. He shared the stage with comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, George Lopez, Adam Sandler, Joan Rivers. He was a writer for Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show for 20 years. 

Frank openly speaks about his lifetime battle with depression, suicide running through his family, and how his journey inspired him for his first TED Talk, “A Matter of Laugh or Death,”. Frank explains the methods he uses to help with his own battle.

We also discuss how to help others. As well as ways to start the conversation, giving people who battle Mental and Emotional Illness permission to give voice to their feelings and experiences surrounding depression and suicide.
